The film tells the story of a mysterious killer who begins murdering women, leaving a message behind: "This is my revenge." Commissioner Soavi investigates, but is unable to find any clues that point him in the right direction. One thing that all the victims have in common is that they frequent a gym, but despite interrogating Nico, the gym's manager, and the other trainers, nothing useful emerges. Retired commissioner Taddei, who was involved in an unsolved case twenty years earlier, sees similarities between the two cases and tells Soavi about them. Meanwhile, the killer continues to murder.

The murders are shown in a quick, brutal, and visually effective manner. The film is based on a novel by David Pratelli, and it blends elements of thriller and detective fiction, with psycho-thriller influences in the concluding development. The narrative takes place on two different but interconnected timelines. The film keeps the audience's attention until the discovery of the culprit, and it is a well-made and suspenseful thriller.
