A selection of works by Claude Monet. Born in Paris on November 14, 1840, he was one of the founders of French Impressionism. His paintings depict the immediate perception of the subjects he paints. He was very active in landscaping and en plein air painting. In 1871 Monet, after countless travels, returned to Paris, where he deepened his friendship with Renoir and Pissarro and created the foundations of Impressionism. Subsequently he retired to live in Argenteuil, a small village on the right bank of the Seine, also devoting himself to the activity of winemaker.
